‘Star Wars’ Origin Films on the Way? What Would You Like to See?

Several days ago Disney executive Jay Rasulo appeared at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, in Beverly Hill to discuss his company's future. That future can be summed up in two words: Star Wars. Rasulo said that the franchise is going to be a big part of Disney's plans for the next few years, and in his words, "The sky's the limit." Right now, the plan is to introduce a new movie a year following the release of J.J. Abrams' Episode VII. No one is probably surprised by that, but what he said next may raise a few eyebrows: Rasulo stated that some of these yearly films could be "origin stories." I wonder what he meant by that? Could we be looking at individual character origins, or origins of some of the Saga's institutions, like the Jedi? If it's the former, should we expect origins for established characters like Han Solo? I'd love that, especially if they told the story of how he met Chewbacca. (No spoilers, here. Just look it up!) If it's the latter, I'd like to see a film about the founding of the Jedi order on Tython. Oh! Or a story about the Sith? How about a Bounty Hunter story? I love Boba Fett, too, but what about Bossk? Would you watch a Bossk film or am I expecting too much. (Probably so. I'm the guy who would read a Momaw Nadon novel.) What about some Expanded Universe characters or institutions? A Jacen Solo film would rock, in my opinion. So would a Black Sun film. Or are we maybe about to see origin stories for some brand new characters or institutions? No way to even guess what that might be! So what about you? What would you be interested in seeing on the screen? Me? how about Darth Plageueis!
